"It is written, ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer,’…" (Matthew 21:13)
"It is written, 'My house shall be a house of prayer,'…” (Luke 19:46)
All of us at Westside Chapel truly believe that God answers prayer. Our fellowship is a living testimony of that belief.
Prayer works many miraculous events in a person’s life. Consider these three ways that prayer can strengthen your life when you tend to its principles:
- Prayer will give you hope. (Colossians 1:27, 1Timothy 1:1)
- Prayer will give you comfort. (Philippians 4:6-7)
- Prayer will give you direction. (Matthew 6:13)
Many times people mistakenly substitute hope for faith then they pray. Knowing how to separate the two is important. Though they are similar, the difference between hope and faith is significant.
"Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen." (Hebrews 11:1). The difference is significant in how it affects one’s prayer life.
Building your faith, from accepting Jesus Christ into your heart as your personal savior, to receiving baptism of the Holy Spirit, will guide you in your prayer life.
"Rejoice always; pray without ceasing; in everything give thanks; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.” (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18)
People coming together in prayer, like drops of water, can make an ‘ocean’ that defies any resistance.
